The Gujarat Common Admission Service (GCAS) is a visionary portal launched by the Department of Education, Government of Gujarat. It is to streamline admission registration process across various disciplines offered by government universities within state of Gujarat. The GCAS Portal serves as the State Government’s Common Admission portal encompassing all the disciplines such as arts, commerce, science, rural studies and others under a single umbrella.

It will streamline the admission process for over 7.50 lakh students wanting admission in government, aided, and self-supporting colleges affiliated with 14 state universities. The GCAS PORTAL registration fee for admission is Rs. 300, payable online.

The GCAS Portal not only facilitates admission at undergraduate level but also for postgraduate and Ph.D. courses, providing a unified admission platform. It aims to alleviate common worries among students, such as choosing a suitable course and navigating through various universities and colleges. User Registration, Admission Process of GCAS Portal 2024

A. GCAS Portal New User ID Creation:

1. Visit the official GCAS PORTAL website i.e gcas.gujgov.edu.in
2. Look for  “Apply Now” option and click on it.
3. Online registration form filling with the required personal details:
   1. Name: The student needs to fill in their name, exactly as it is in their HSE Marksheet/ 12^th Standard Marksheet.
   2. Date Of Birth: The student needs to submit their Date of Birth in DD/MM/YYYY format exactly as it is in their Higher Secondary Examination Marksheet (HSE)/ 10th Marksheet^.
   3. Mobile No: In the format Country code with the Ten Digit Mobile Number e.g. (91) 0123456789 (the student needs to share mobile number which is easily accessible throughout the GCAS Portal admission process).
   4. E-mail: The student needs to provide a valid email ID.

4. Review and Final submission on the GCAS Portal.
5. An OTP will arrive at the registered Email ID and Contact number.
6. GCAS Portal ID creation of the user.
7. The Username and Password will be sent to the relevant Email ID and Contact number.
8. The student needs to immediately change the password post registration on the GCAS Portal.

B. Important Instructions for GCAS Portal

1. An active Email Id and Mobile Number is necessary.
2. Applicant can register only once on GCAS Portal, from the same email id.
3. Must have latest Photo and Signature with maximum size of 50 K.B.
4. Applicant must have below documents with maximum size of 200 K.B. for complete GCAS Portal application fill-up:

• Latest Marksheet
• School Leaving Certificate
• Caste Certificate (If Applicable)
• Non-Creamy Layer Certificate (If Applicable)
• Differently Abled Certificate (If Applicable)
• EWS Certificate (If Applicable)
• Domicile Certificate (If Applicable)

C. Admission Process of GCAS Portal:

1. 1. The student needs to login to GCAS Portal with User ID and Password as provided post registration.
   2. An OTP will arrive at the registered Email ID and Contact number.
   3. Post GCAS Portal Login, the student will be able to access the application form.
   4. The student will have to shortlist the course(s) and the universities/ colleges offering respective courses in the state. The student may choose as many streams, courses or universities/ colleges as they wish.
   5. Post selection of the courses and their relevant universities/ colleges, the student will need to fill out an application form.
   6. While filling out GCAS Portal application form, relevant document proofs for the category need to be uploaded by the students of EWS of General category, SC, ST, OBC, SEBC and Nomadic Tribes and De- Notified Tribes.
   7. Review of the filled GCAS Portal application form.
   8. GCAS Application fee payment through provided payment gateway link.
   9. The filled application will automatically be sent to the respective email ID of the student.
   10. Final submission by the student.

 

How to reset GCAS Portal Password?

1. Click on the Forget Password tab available on the GCAS Portal Login page.
2. Enter the Email ID, Application No. and Date of Birth of the User student and click on Submit button.
3. An OTP will arrive at the registered Email ID or Contact number.
4. Reset the GCAS Portal.

 

Other Important Instruction for GCAS Portal

1. It is mandatory to answer all questions before final submission on GCAS Portal.
2. Always make sure to provide an updated Email ID and Contact number. All updates regarding the application will be sent to this number.
3. It is necessary for students to submit an active contact number of parents/ guardian.
4. The students need to enter all the qualification related details correctly. This helps universities/ colleges in shortlisting the submitted application forms.
5. The candidates need to visit the university/ college after receiving an email from the chosen list of universities/ colleges for document verification and final enrolment.
6. Disability: If a student is differently abled, then they need to submit a certificate of more than 45% of physical disability.
