Delhi residents who have outstanding traffic Challan can now file a petition to District Magistrate to reduce or waive off the fine completely. What is National Lok Adalat?

National Legal Service Authority (NALSA) along with other Legal Services Institutions conducts Lok Adalats. Lok Adalat is one of the alternative dispute redressal mechanisms, it is a forum where disputes/cases pending in the court of law or at pre-litigation stage are settled/ compromised amicably. Lok Adalats receive statutory status under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987. There is no court fee payable when a matter is filed in a Lok Adalat.

Delhi Lok Adalat Token registration/ slot reservation process

1. Go to official website of Delhi traffic police National Lok Adalat i.e traffic.delhipolice.gov.in
2. Enter your vehicle number
3. Then type either your Chassis number or Engine Number.
4. Click on Notice Details or Challan Details. See the challans on the particular vehicle.
5. Download a copy of your Challan and note the number.
6. Click on ‘Print Notice’ a new window of Token reservation will appear.
7. Select your nearest Lok Adalat Location, Select court room and the session you want to appear in front of court.
8. Click on Submit. Your Token Registration for Delhi Lok Adalat 2024 is complete.
