Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi visit Odisha today on March 5,today. As soon as the PM landed in Chandikhole, Odisha he began inaugurating new projects one after another. Boosting development in all sectors like rail, petroleum, highways etc the total amounted to 19,600 crore rupees. Governor of Odisha, Shri Raghubar Das, Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Naveen Patnaik and Union Minister, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan were present on the occasion among others.
PM Modi in Odisha today is on his 10 days-12 states (and UTs) tour to dedicate, inaugurate and lay foundation stone of 29 new projects around sub-continent. One of the aims of this tour is to gain public support for upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024. During this tour he shall visit Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar, J&K, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Delhi. This visit to Odisha co-insides with the birth anniversary of Shri Biju Patnaik and Odisha Formation Day which is seen as a very positive response factor.
In Odisha there are around 16 projects launched worth Rs 20,000 crores. These projects shall create new employment opportunities for upto 60 lakh people in Odisha.

- Indian Oil MEG project, Paradip- MEG is an important raw material used in various industries with market worth $25 billion. This unit is expected to produce 332KTA MEG. It will reduce dependence on imports for this product and promotes ATMANIRBHAR BHARAT. Facilitate raw material availability to the textile industries.
- 2/4/6/8-laning of highways- improve connectivity of Odisha. Transportation of goods become easier, boost tourism, promote safety of travelers etc.
- Sea water De-Salination plant- BARC develop technology to remove salts from sea water and make it fit for drinking. This plant process 50 lakh litres of sea water every day and make it drinkable. Pure water shall reach homes of many civilians in Odisha.
