Isro Young Scientist Programme 2024

Indian Space Research Organization is set to launch its most awaited “Young Scientist Programme’ also known as “Yuva Vigyani Karyakram”. which offers a golden opportunity to young students around the country to participate in a2-week residential summer training at seven centres of ISRO.

What is Yuvika Isro Program 2024

This annual education and training programme was announced by ISRO chief K. Sivan under their Student Outreach Programme known as ‘Antriksh Jigyasa’. The students selected from various academic and geographical backgrounds get a chance to experience a two–week residential summer programme in one of the 7 centres of ISRO. program also chalked out by ISRO as ‘Catch them young’. During these two-weeks, students will have an opportunity to interact with eminent scientists, attend class room lectures and participate in various hands–on activities such as Model Rocketry, Sky gazing, Robotic coding /experiments, CANSAT experiments, DIY kits assembly, facility visit etc.

Aim of Yuvika Program – Jigyasa iirs

To encourage students throughout the country to pursue STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and space exploration-basedcareers.

Raise awareness in rural areas about advancement in Space and Technology.

History and Background of Yuvika Isro Program 2024

• The programme was first introduced in January 2019 funded by the Department of Space and got inaugurated in May 2019 at four facilities of ISRO namely Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (in Thiruvananthapuram), U R Rao Satellite Centre (in Bengaluru), Space Applications Centre (in Ahmedabad) and North Eastern Space Applications Centre (in Shillong). A total of 111 students got selected and together witnessed the launch of  ‘ RH-200 Sounding Rocket’.
• In May 2020 the second term of the programme was announced in which 113 students got accepted but unfortunately it got postponed due to the COVID pandemic.
• Later for the next years there was no announcement related to the programme until 2023.

Process of jigyasa Yuvika Registration [documents required]

1. Register in ISRO Antariksha Jigyasa Platform- jigyasa.iirs.gov.in/registration
2. Verify your email as received after successful registration in above website. Please click on the verification link sent to your registered email ID.
3. Participate in SpaceQuiz. Read Quiz guidelines carefully before appearing for the quiz.

4. Fill your personal profile and education details for Antriksh Jigyasa Program Registration.
5. Student need to take photo copy of the certificates and attest the same by the principal/Head of School signing the certificate for verification. The verified certificate needs to scan and upload into the website. The photo copy of attested certificates and certificate for verification need to be uploaded in the website.
6. Generate your certificate for verification by your principal/Head of School/ Parent/ Guardian (Any mismatch observed in the attached certificate (s) by the student and certificate for verification submitted by student will liable for cancellation of candidature of the student)
7. Scan and upload your document and submit the application.
